I know LMS has issues when certain special characters are used in the filename, but I never got to the bottom of why Alice couldn't be catalogued (no special characters) and it seems more than a coincidence that the same problem is repeated using MC.įrom what I've read, MC is supposed to be a client server architecture, but I cannot see a way of setting up a server with MC installed and then play my music via available clients. Interestingly, LMS had the same problem cataloguing this particularly album. One of the albums that wasn't found was Tom Waits' Alice (2002). Any ideas on how to fix this? The folder I imported from and the hierachy/naming convention for the media files are as follows This is a little puzzling as some of the albums were by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc, so I wouldn't have expected there to have been problems cross referencing details on whichever online database(s) it uses for album details, if that's how it works. Worked well for the most part, but there were 1001 files (about 100 albums) put into Unassigned. I've set up the Media Center and imported some flac files. I know this post should really be in the Audio section, but I also know I'll get better and more polite answers here. I would ask on the JRiver Forum, but I'm still waiting for approval. I was previously of the opinion that all software audio players were pretty much the same in their ability to reproduce audio. Giving this application a try after hearing a significant difference between this and Foobar when used for playing music with identical hardware.
